Raiders go down in tough double OT loss

Friday night the Raiders traveled to Union City for their last regular season game. The game was off to a very slow start for both teams with the first quarter ending at 4-7. The second quarter was not much better. The Raiders lost Evan Huffman in the second quarter due to a cut above his eye. He had to be taken to the hospital. Going into halftime the Raiders trailed 12-18. The third quarter was better for the Raiders, as they outscored the Indians 11-5. The fourth quarter came right down to the last seconds as Keaton Coleman hit a three with about a minute left. Union City held the ball for the last shot, but missed a step back three. The game was tied at 33 and going into overtime. It was very close as both teams scored 6, but it too came right down to the last seconds with Keaton Coleman drilling a three with five seconds left to tie the game at 39. The Raiders at this point have had two players foul out: Jake Roush and Gavin Barcus. In the second overtime, were outscored 18-9, with two more players fouling out: Triston Niblick and Hunter Schreiber. The game ended at 57-48 due to all the free throws Union City made at the end of the game. The Raiders will be playing Cowan in the first round of sectionals at Monroe Central on Tuesday.
